Stay with Reactive if...
You mainly need speaking indicators for a Discord call. Reactive supports custom avatar images, and its group or individual sources may already fit your OBS scene. For a casual collab, that can be enough.
PNGTuber collab tools
FugiTech Reactive Images solves a useful problem: show custom Discord avatars in OBS and light them up when people speak. PNGStage is built around the next step: bring the cast, their avatars, the layout, rehearsals, and live controls into one shared production. Set up the stage once, put its browser source in OBS, and give participants a read-only view of the same stage.

You are producing a show with a recurring cast, rotating guests, designed positions, or a rehearsal before going live. PNGStage gives the streamer one place to manage the stage while each participant manages their own avatar.
Workflow comparison
Both tools can put a Discord group in a browser source. PNGStage adds a show-level workflow around that source. These are the practical choices to consider.
| Need | Reactive Images | PNGStage |
|---|---|---|
| Discord speakers in OBS | Group and individual reactive image sources. | One browser source for the selected voice channel. |
| Cast placement | Use its group presentation or arrange individual sources in OBS. | Use Automatic layout, assign Fixed Slots, and feature a host or guest GM. |
| Avatar setup | Upload custom images for Reactive models. | Guests manage PNG states or import compatible .veado files. |
| On-screen names | Choose how names appear in the Reactive source. | Creator can show participant aliases and individually styled names. |
| Show identity | Configure the appearance of a Reactive source. | Keep a separate overlay session for each configured voice channel. |
| Someone disconnects | Check how your chosen Reactive source behaves in your scene. | Fixed Slots keep the person's assigned position empty until they return. |
| Before the cast joins | Preview your source and scene in OBS. | Test Stage fills the layout with rehearsal avatars for up to 10 minutes. |
| Participant view | Share an OBS preview or stream feed. | Share a private, read-only Stage View link. |
| Live show changes | Adjust Reactive and OBS sources for your setup. | Use the dashboard, or Creator's OBS Control Dock and show presets. |
| Audio beyond the call | Discord speaking drives reactive images. | Optional OBS mic bridge can activate the streamer and mapped bot avatars. |
The streamer chooses a Discord voice channel and adds its PNGStage overlay to OBS. Each guest saves their own avatar once and can appear in future PNGStage streams. PNGStage starts with an Automatic layout; a show with nameplates or a recurring cast can use Fixed Slots. When someone disconnects, their assigned seat stays open and they return to it when they reconnect. Free includes six fixed positions; Creator includes 12.
Test Stage temporarily populates the overlay with rehearsal avatars and cycles speaking states, so you can check your OBS framing without asking the cast to join early. A separate Test Speaking action previews a detected participant's talking state. When the show starts, the private Stage View lets players see the finished layout without giving them editing controls.
Reactive supports custom avatar images too. PNGStage goes further for creators who already work in veadotube: import a compatible .veado file and reuse its PNG states in the collab overlay. You can also create an avatar from transparent idle and talking PNGs, with optional blink states. Moving from Reactive means uploading your original image files; there is no automatic account or settings transfer.
Feature a guest GM or host, adjust speaking glow and inactive fade independently, and tune how long the talking state holds between words. With Creator, participants can show their chosen aliases and name colors on the overlay. The streamer also gets saved show presets and a private OBS Control Dock for stage changes during a stream. Presets remember stage settings without storing channel IDs or private links.
The optional local mic bridge reads an OBS audio input so the streamer's avatar can react even when they speak off-Discord. Creator can add Discord bot avatars and map their OBS audio inputs too, such as a TTS bot's virtual cable. The bot must still join the watched voice channel for its avatar to appear.
Configure separate PNGStage sessions for different voice channels and use their own overlay links in OBS. Free includes five voice channel setups; Creator includes 25. This helps when the same streamer runs a panel, an actual-play cast, and occasional guest collabs with different rosters.
FAQ
Yes. Reactive can show a Discord call in a group browser source. You do not need PNGStage merely to put multiple reactive images in one OBS source.
PNGStage stores the cast's stage configuration outside OBS. Optional Fixed Slots reserve assigned positions through disconnects, Test Stage rehearses the layout, and a read-only Stage View gives participants their own view of the finished show.
Yes. Reactive supports custom images, so PNGStage's distinction is not simply that it accepts PNGs. PNGStage also imports compatible .veado avatar files and combines participant-owned art with tools for producing a shared collab stage.
No. Guests sign in with Discord and save an avatar once. The streamer adds the PNGStage browser source to OBS, and guests can close the site after setup.
Yes, if you have the image files. Create a PNGStage avatar from transparent idle and talking PNGs, with optional blink states. PNGStage also imports compatible .veado avatar files. It does not import a Reactive account or its settings automatically.
